Richard Garfield, Partner
Business and Project Oversight
Richard Garfield has practiced architecture 50 years: working for Louis I. Kahn; In Dhaka, Bangla Desh and in Kathmandu, Nepal, representing Kahn and working for the Ford Foundation, The U.S. Government, and the Kingdom of Nepal. In Oregon, he taught architecture at the University of Oregon, was director of architecture for DMJM / Hilton and president of Garfield-Hacker Architects, building at OHSU, Tektronix, Intel and museum sites in Oregon, Montana, Arizona and California.

Ean Eldred, Partner
Design & Project Manager
Ean Eldred’s passion for design, building and fabrication began while working with his father Dale Eldred on national and international sculpture projects. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute continuing on to claim a BA in Architecture from Cooper Union. Ean has served as guest critic at U of O’s architecture school, taught urban drawing at PNCA and served as juror on many public art and art selection panels.

John Kashiwabara, Partner
Design & Project Manager
For John, architecture is a convergence of disciplines. Between and during education at The Cooper Union School of Architecture, he worked for sculptors, structural engineers, general contractors, and architects. He pursues architecture as a physical, collaborative, and poetic endeavor.

Peter Nylen, Partner
Design and Project Manager
Peter has more than twenty years experience making buildings, spaces, sculpture, lighting and furniture. After earning his professional degree in architecture from the Cooper Union in New York City, Peter moved to Portland and helped found RIGGA art & architecture, then rhiza A+D. Encompassing most of his professional career, these team-oriented, hands-on design practices reflect his deep commitment to the collaborative process and the necessity of craft.
