Our latest public artwork for the City of Shoreline Washington is now installed in the Town Center Park at Aurora Ave N & N 178th St. The Artwork titled:
Soundshell Interurban Station
occupies a grassy field along a floating fragment of the original brick Trunk Road that connected Seattle to Everett and adjacent to where the interurbans Ronald Station was located.
Soundshell Internatural Station celebrates Shorelines origin story of 1900’s urban Seattleites venturing north on the Interurban train cars to connect with the nature of Richmond Beach and the shores of Puget Sound. The artworks is inspired by the elegance of the turn-of-the-century interurban cars stained glass windows as well as Richmon Beaches and the Puget Sounds seashells, waves and whales.
2020 have been more than a challenging year and we were fortunate to have opportunity to worked closely with the Selection Committee and the City of Shoreline throughout the Design and Development process. We coordinated closely with the City of Shorelines Parks Department resulting in a smooth and successful installation. We are looking forward to a future post full-pandemic dedication to thank everyone in person and have the chance to honor all that were involved in bringing this artwork to fruition in 2020!
